The Office Manager is part of the senior management team and is key to the successful delivery of the overall British Council in Sierra Leone operation.The job requires a well-organised, adaptable, self-starter, with great attention to detail and good communication skills.The role is expected to line manage the Resources and Facilities team.

Role overview

Overall the post-holder will focus on:  

•Facilities and Resources Management 
•Procurement 
•Financial accounting support
•HR administration
•Exams coordination and support

Main duties will include:

•Provision of efficient and effective administrative, financial and facilities support Financial management
•Support with human resources administration tasks ensuring proper record keeping in country
•In support to the Sierra Leone and Senegal Senior Accountant and Accountant, to maintain office accounting systems 
•Manage the procurement process and supplier negotiations/relations for the Sierra Leone operation
•Support Exams as required by the country office to ensure an efficient management of Exam confidential materials.

Requirements and Qualifications:

•Recognized management or administrative qualification 
•Proven understanding and experience of financial management and administration
•Strong experience of an ERP system
•Proven experience of working in the non-governmental or not-for-profit sectors
•Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role
•Must be well-organized, adaptable, self-starter, with great attention to detail and good communication skills 
•Demonstrable ability to create shared purpose, connects with others, work together, make things happen, be accountable and shape the future.
