UK’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities, the British Council, is seeking to recruit a Project Manager for the Arts. The candidate will be responsible for the overall management of our arts and creative economy portfolio in Sierra Leone, delivering programmes, audiences and partnerships which contribute to the British Council’s West African Cluster arts programme. The post holder will work closely with the Country Director Sierra Leone, counterparts in Nigeria, Ghana, and Senegal and the wider Regional British Council Arts team.

Role overview

Key Responsibilities 

Overall the post-holder will focus on:  

•Building creative partnerships, networks and collaboration

•Showcasing contemporary UK arts in Sierra Leone and vice versa 

•Developing skills and leadership in the creative sector

•Harnessing the power of arts in achieving international development goals

Main duties will include:

•Project planning

•Financial management

•Marketing, communications and evaluation

•Sharing market intelligence and information;  maintaining and developing close understanding of and links with the Arts sector in Sierra Leone   

  Requirements and Qualifications

•Bachelor’s Degree or Project Management qualification in business, marketing or finance administration

•At least three years’ recent professional experience of working in the Arts sector in Sierra Leone,  ideally with international links 

•Proven ability to identify, develop, and manage relationships with major partners and stakeholders 

•Demonstrable ability to create shared purpose, connect with others, work  together, make things happen, be accountable  and shape the future
